Story Behind the Painting
Bird Chatter is inspired by all the birds that visit me in the garden observed from my studio. My bird shapes are generic but reflect the fantails, thrushes and blackbirds that I love flitting around the garden, feeding, building nests and chattering away. They are so busy they are not always easy to spot even if you can hear them, so I have them camouflaged by the garden. I use symbols to depict favourite flowers including roses, iris, tulips and poppies. This piece incorporates pastel which gives a smoky effect to some parts of the painting. People say my vibrant paintings make them smile. Do you have a space in your home that you would love to brighten up and bring you a smile every day?
