Would you prefer to learn oil and cold wax painting privately, rather than joining a scheduled workshop?

I offer personalised workshops in my home garden studio in Peka Peka for one to four people. You can come on your own, bring a friend, or gather a small group of friends for a creative day together.

With a maximum of four participants, everyone receives plenty of individual guidance and there is time to experiment, ask questions and develop your own work.

Introduction to Oil & Cold Wax

Suitable for complete beginners and artists who would like to build confidence with this exciting medium.

Through a series of guided exercises, you'll explore how to use oil and cold wax, build layered surfaces, create texture and make expressive marks using a variety of tools.

You'll take home 6–8 studies on oil paper and the knowledge and skills to continue exploring the medium at home.

All materials and use of tools are included .

Landscape Exploration in Oil & Cold Wax

Suitable for both beginners and experienced artists.

I'll guide you through a series of exercises exploring landscapes from ethereal atmospheric scenes through to semi-abstract landscapes, using oil and cold wax and a variety of tools.

You'll explore ways of creating texture, depth and atmosphere while developing your own approach to landscape painting.

You'll take home 6–8 landscape studies on oil paper.

All materials and use of tools are included.

Choose How You'd Like to Learn

Private workshops can be arranged for:

1 person — $450 per person
One-to-one tuition with the day tailored to your needs.

2 people — $300 per person
Bring a friend and enjoy a more personal learning experience together.

3 people — $250 per person
Gather a small group of friends for a creative day.

4 people — $200 per person
The maximum group size, giving everyone plenty of individual attention while offering the best per-person value.

One Full Day or Two Half Days

Each workshop provides approximately 6 hours of tuition and can be arranged as:

One full day
or
Two half-day sessions

We'll discuss the format when you enquire and find an arrangement that works for your group.

Tea and coffee are provided. For a full-day workshop, please bring a packed lunch.

Your Workshop, Your Group

Private workshops are ideal if:

  • You and a friend want to learn together.

  • You'd like to organise a creative day for a small group of friends.

  • You can't make one of my scheduled workshop dates.
